ABOUT ME‍ ‍

My name is Makena Schaumloeffel and I am a photographer and videographer based in Santa Clarita, CA, specializing in sports coverage.

Growing up as a athlete and sports enthusiast, the beauty and lessons of sports always stood out to me. After competing in both indoor and beach volleyball at Ventura College, I understood that I never wanted to leave the sports world when my athletic career came to an end.

The start of MSL Media happened way before it became a reality. The idea came from when I got my first official camera at 16 years old and one of my best friends in my high school photography class told me that I should share my work online. I waited to pursue a photography and videography business due to my student athlete lifestyle. After I had retired from college athletics at the end of 2024, MSL Media was then created at the beginning of 2025.

Not only am I a photographer and videographer, I am a volleyball coach and social media director at the Los Angles Volleyball Academy and the Santa Monica Beach Club. I am also a full time student at California State University Northridge majoring in psychology.
